PARISH DAY

Parish Day, our annual summer fete, has become one of the highlights of our social calendar. It is held in the Priory grounds and features live music and entertainment, traditional stalls and tombolas, fun and games for children as well as delicious food. The event culminates with the Parish Raffle where the top prize is £500.

It is a great time for people to get together and enjoy each other’s company for what is always a fun day out for the whole family. It is also a good opportunity for those new to the area to get to know the various activities available in the parish and to meet the volunteers who organise and run them.

Our parish is very blessed with the support we receive both in help for this event and donations.

EVENTS TEAM

The purpose of the Events Team is to support parishioner-led events and to provide some new/varied events throughout the year to promote community, friendship and to help raise funds for parish repairs and maintenance. Fr Michael is seeking to recruit volunteers for this very important role.

'Parishioner led events’ is when parishioners ask to have a certain type of event and have a feel for/and friends who may support such an event who may also have expertise and contacts to help ‘make it happen!

With the approval of the parish priest for all events, the Events Team helps to fit the events into the parish calendar and supports the parishioner to see the event through; for example, advertising, access to equipment, recruitment of help.

We actively encourage new ventures that support all areas and ages of the parish to raise funds for the repairs and maintenance of the parish.

If you have an idea or would like to run an event, speak to Fr Michael.
